No. 3 P.M. Winder Power Supply and Rider Roll
24 Pressure Compensating Flow Controls
These pressure-compensating valves will maintain a constant
volume of oil through the orifice regardless of the load. The valves are
connected in a meter in and out type arrangement. The valves control
the speed that the Rider Roll raises and lowers. If the Rider Roll is
raising or lowering too slow, then one of the orifices may be plugged
up. With the hydraulics off, remove the orifice and inspect for
contamination. Make sure the Rider Roll is fully lowered and
pressure is at 0 PSI when the No.21 valve is actuated. If the wrong
type flow control is installed, the cylinders’ speed will vary. When
replacing the valve make sure the part numbers match exactly.
